We offer flexible start dates through integrated learning, meaning you can join a group already in progress if there's space. However, new groups typically start every 2 months.
The course runs for approximately 8 to 10 weeks, depending on your pace and attendance.

By week 6, you’ll also gain your ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) card, a crucial step for working on-site. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to gain real work experience within the construction industry.
There are no formal entry requirements to join this course.
As we deliver this programme in partnership with Morthyng Vocational College, if you haven’t yet achieved a Grade 4 in English or Maths, you’ll complete these qualifications alongside your electrical training at their in-house college, just around the corner from our centre.

If you are a school leaver, aged 16-18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2025), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees and may be eligible for additional support depending on your financial situation. This course is the first step towards becoming a successful Electrician.
You could progress on to the level 2 Technical Certificate in Electrical Installation to enhance your skills and knowledge. Alternatively, you could secure an apprenticeship with an employer and earn whilst you learn.
